Berlin Christmas Decorations

Over the past week, we've been visiting parts of Berlin which are famous for their Christmas decorations.

Here are a few of the sights that we saw.

Shopping Arcade near the Sony Center

One of the world's biggest book and media houses, Bertelsmann, had their East Berlin building beautifully illuminated

Well I'll be damned! Now that's what I call christmas lights. By the way, don't forget global theme of the week, Holiday. This could go under that... lol

The city Christmas lights in Kashima City pale in comparison. Oh my that building is BLUE!

Can I play with the model trains? Seeing that brings out the kid in me.

Thanks for the comments!

Mory: Hope that Mrs M is on the road to recovery now and that you're all set to enjoy Eid!

DS: Yes, Germany is going well with us here! We'll definitely catch up in mid-January.

Buj: hope that you're having a great time in Dubai!

Kaya: (aka the headless chook!) Have a safe and happy trip to Oman!

SS: Yes, posted my Holiday image on Global Themes. I trust that your holiday goes equally well, and I'm very sad that the opportunity to meet up couldn't happen. :-(

Balushi: you must like some Germans - don't you have a German girlfriend/fiancee in your harem?

Pandabonium: that train set had the same effect on me! To compensate, we've gone out and bought a whole heap of fireworks to let off on New Year's Eve!

Arab Lady: Thank you! Eid Mubarak and welcome to our blog!

I was just starting to look at the pics when a visitor arrived so coffee, talk about 'what did ya do for Christmas' etc. and I forgot to go back.
What spectacular photos, and there is still a simplicity in the shapes so it's not all over the place with Christmas decor.

Thanks Wendy. Yes, the decorations that we've seen have been tasteful and not gaudy or over-the-top.

Berlin is mostly 5-storey apartment buildings, and all the residents decorate their windows and balconies. It's a very pretty time of the year in the city.
